Instructor: Danielle Townsend

Marbling is the art of floating and designing watercolors on a base fluid then permanently transferring the design to paper, fabric and other fibrous material. Experience the wonder and instant gratification of ebru, better known as paper marbling. Stimulate your imagination by designing various patterns on paper using this ancient Middle Eastern art form. Participants will learn how to prepare the paper to accept the colors, mix the paints, prepare the base fluid, float and create the designs, and transfer the designs to paper. Learn techniques making historic and modern designs on multiple pages. We’ll create many papers with different styles during this workshop which you can take home. By the end of the class you will have your very own beautifully painted paper to decorate books with or to use as stationary. You’ll be inspired with the learning and creation in this fun and relaxing class- a unique must-try experience!
