Get ready to build a festive holiday masterpiece! In this fun, hands-on pottery workshop, young artists ages 6 to 12 will learn foundational ceramic sculpting techniques to create their very own coil Christmas tree.
Students will start by learning how to roll out smooth clay "snakes" or coils, then stack and blend them to build up a beautifully tiered, hollow tree structure. Once the trees are sculpted, kids will get creative by adding custom details such as hand-carved textures, little clay ornaments, or a star right on top! Afterward, they will paint their creations with bright, vibrant glazes. A final clear glaze will be applied to give the trees an ultra-glossy, shiny holiday finish. Project can take 2-3 weeks to dry and fire, and we’ll do our best to get these projects fired as soon as possible.

Get creative for your child's birthday! We hold children's birthday parties for 7-16 painters. We require a deposit to hold a date and our parties are 2 hours long. Parties are scheduled when we have availability during weekdays or weekends. Party guests paint on a 12x16in canvas and painting time during the party takes approximately one hour or so to complete depending on the children's ages and complexity of the painting. The remaining time is used for cake, presents & anything else you'd like to do during the party. This gives the paintings time to dry before the guests leave so they can take them home. You and your child choose the painting for your party and we can design a painting if time allows. Contact the Director to coordinate party date and details at director@rockdaleartcenter.com.
If you're making a deposit, choose your name from the drop down menu. If you're paying for additional painters, choose Painters from the drop down menu and add the number of painters.
